Election Information |
The Clerk of Court is the Chief Elections Officer in the Parish. As such, he serves as a member of the Parish Board of Election Supervisors. The Clerk is responsible for training all election commissioners and seeing that all precincts are staffed sufficiently for every election. When commissioners have been certified by the Clerk, the Board of Election Supervisors selects those who will serve during elections.
The Bienville Parish Board of Election Supervisors consist of the following persons:
Jim Martin - Clerk of Court, President
Paula Stewart - Registrar of Voters
Kathy Sims - Representative of parish Republican Party
Lavern Best - Representative of parish Democratic Party
Luradell Jefferson - Appointee of the Governor
Election Commissioners and Commissioners-In-Charge are selected in accordance with Louisiana Law by the Parish Board of Election Supervisors in the following manner:

Board meets prior to election

Registrar furnishes list of all qualified persons listed alphabetically by precinct. (Numbered)

Board draws numbered balls from a cup. The person whose name corresponds to the number chosen is selected to serve as a commissioner.

The drawing continues until the appropriate number of commissioners and alternates are selected for each precinct.
|
| 5.
|
Those persons selected to serve in a Primary Election will serve in the General Election that will follow.
|
|
|
COMMISSIONERS IN CHARGE are selected in the same manner except they are selected in December of each year and serve the following year.
